Announcing the new and improved SA Club Luxembourg

At long last, after all the tweaking, adjusting, testing, and refreshing we finally have something to show for it. We've put in weeks of work to bring you a website which will hopefully, through careful moderation, and attention become something truly special.  All things aside, at least it's pretty! We do it all for you, the South African community, and we really hope you guys appreciate it.  Some of our new features are listed below along with a few old ones, that we've improved upon.

• Members - Sign in with your email address and be a proud South African in Luxembourg. We can always add more functionality to the site once our membership on the Members Gadget grows.
• Subscribe via Email - You can now receive SA Club Luxembourg News right in your email inbox.
• RSS - Have SA Club Luxembourg News delivered to your favorite RSS reader.
• Twitter - Follow us on Twitter and make comments @saclublux. twitter.com/saclublux
• Social Bookmarks - Now you can easily share SA Club Luxembourg with a friend, on Facebook, Twitter, del.icio.us, LinkedIn, digg, and more. You can also save as a Google Bookmark, or simply email to a friend, all from our new social column.
• Built-in Translation - Not everyone speaks English, and sometimes it's just a little more comfortable in your own language. Use the integrated Google Translate bar to switch to your preferred language. The translations are not yet 100% accurate, but they do determine context quite well, and are constantly improving. We are very glad to have the opportunity to implement this technology, as it allows for some people to understand a great deal more on our pages than may have been possible for them before.
• Events - It is now much easier to check for upcoming events at-a-glance on the new Events page.  You can also view Month, and even Week views thanks to the fantastic embedded Google Calendar. We encourage you to email us any public events you may know of coming up in Luxembourg so we can add them for the whole community to see. Please include the words, "NEW EVENT" (in English) in the subject and send it to admin@saclubluxembourg.com.
• Photos - Our new photo gallery makes it easy to upload new photos of the latest exhibition, fair, or braai.
• Businesses - We're more than happy to list Luxembourg businesses here on our site.  Want to get added to the business page? Send an email with "NEW BUSINESS" (in English) in the subject line to admin@saclubluxembourg.com.

 
We can't wait to get into all of these over the next year.  2010 has a lot in store for us all, and now SA Club Luxembourg is doing it in style.  We encourage your comments and hope to hear your thoughts and ideas for further expansion for the site. Yes you guessed it - it is that time of year again!! Summer, sun(well
mostly rain- but hey we are not in Africa ok)
So same procedure as every year.

This is your invitation to our 6th annual South African Braai....as
always a load of fun to be had and new friendships to be made... We
again have live music and obviously all the hunky South African
braaiers!!

22 August 15:00 at Gasthaus zum Schwanen Oberursel,
We have boerewors,springbok, ostrich, lambchops, braaibroodtjies,
bobotie, castle, windhoek, savannah, brandewyn and lots more goodies.

Please just make sure to confirm your reservation ASAP as we already
have reservations and have not started advertising yet!!! We have space
for about 180 max so it is limited!!!

There will be a prize for the best South African outfit of the day!!!!!-
so come dressed with your green and gold!!!
And yes I know I forgot about last year's prize so I will have to make
up for this.

South Africa Day

Come one, come all down to Place du Marche Kiosk! Sunday June 5th is South Africa day and we're celebrating right here in Luxembourg with all of you. The festivities begin at 11, where we'll have all sorts of treats for you. Amarula liqueur, South African wines and beers, and finger-lickin' good braai vlees (South African barbequed meat.)
